My Promise...

**The Doula’s Promise in New Mexico**

Hey There Y'all,

Birth is a sacred journey, and who supports us during this time makes all the difference. In New Mexico, our communities, especially our Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, and non-binary siblings, face disproportionate challenges in maternal health. It’s urgent that we address these disparities.

A birth doula is more than just support; they are advocates, champions of respect, and guardians of cultural tradition. Research shows that with doula support, labor is shorter, less painful, and more satisfying, all vital for better health outcomes.

For birthing people of color, especially in a state as diverse as ours, doulas provide vital protection against systemic biases. We honor our traditions, build trust, and ensure every voice is heard. This care extends beyond birth, reducing unnecessary interventions and fostering healthier families and communities.

Investing in doulas is investing in the resilience and well-being of our people. It’s a commitment to safe, respectful, and culturally competent care for every parent in New Mexico.

Let’s support and uplift our communities, so everyone can step into parenthood feeling safe, empowered, and respected.

Thank you.
